37 weeks
How far along? 37 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes - but not in this picture!
Sleep: i get up multiple times a night ... comfort is a thing of the past
Best moment this week: knowing he'll be here NEXT WEEK!
Miss anything? an adult beverage << yep. that.
Movement: yep, still moving in there
Food cravings: nothing really. food hasn't sounded as disgusting the past few days but i'm not really WANTING anything either. << still this.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not really baby related, sinus crap because of our weather that can't make up its mind and is messing with my ears. not cool.
Gender: boy
Labor signs: random contractions. nothing consistent.
Symptoms: still these, ESPECIALLY the sore hips. yowsa. >> heavy belly, sore back, sore hips, waddling, restless legs and arms, have to go to the bathroom all. the. time. uncomfortable pretty much all over.
Belly button in or out? flat ... less out and more flat. i think because he's DEFINITELY dropped.
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty happy although i'm uncomfortable...trying to not complain too much!
Blood sugar: doing well, my insulin need has dropped a little, dr awesome made some adjustments today - lowered basals overnight (been waking up with lows in the middle of the night and the morning) and lowered boluses for meals. hopefully it's the magic combo for the last week. :)
Looking forward to: meeting him next week!! ALREADY?! it seems like it's been forever away the whole time and now, ohemgee it's almost time!

How far along? 36 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes
Sleep: i get up multiple times a night ... comfort is a thing of the past ;)
Best moment this week: his nursery is DONE. and my husband and i had a nice long holiday weekend together - one of the last of those we'll have that is just the two of us!
Miss anything? an adult beverage << yep. that.
Movement: yep, still moving in there
Food cravings: nothing really. food hasn't sounded as disgusting the past few days but i'm not really WANTING anything either.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not really ... but he is getting so big that some of his movements make me a little nauseous.
Gender: boy
Labor signs: contractions here and there, but according to the OB, there's no progress. he'll likely stay put until i'm induced.
Symptoms: still these >> growing heavy belly, sore back, sore hips, waddling, restless legs and arms, have to go to the bathroom all. the. time. uncomfortable pretty much all over.
Belly button in or out? flat/out
Wedding rings on or off? still on
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty happy although i'm uncomfortable...trying to not complain too much!
Blood sugar: still doing well, it seems like the end of pregnancy and level blood sugar is a winning combo for me.
Looking forward to: i think this can just stay the standard 'meeting our baby' answer now.

the K is to come :) |
Miss anything? an adult beverage << yep. that.

Gender: boy

Belly button in or out? yeah, it's starting to pop out a little
Wedding rings on or off? on, although sometimes i contemplate taking them off because they are looking snug - but then a few hours later or the next day they fit normal.
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty happy
Blood sugar: still doing well! i'm thinking i might need to drop some of my basals, i've had some more frequent lows!
Looking forward to: i think this can just be the standard meeting our baby answer ... looking forward to holding his little feet and telling him no more trying to break mommy's ribs ;)

Maternity clothes? yes
Sleep: i sleep fine, i just wake up to go to the bathroom or because i'm uncomfortable ... and then sometimes it takes me a while to fall back asleep - my body is practicing for the future ;)
Best moment this week: my coworkers had a nice baby shower for me, it was really great! also adding more finishing touches to his room - it's SO CLOSE to being done (yes i'll share some pics when it's finished)! i packed his bag (which doesn't contain much) ... thinking about doing that for myself. haha :) AND dr awesome said i don't need to come back before he's born, because my next appointment would be a few days before i get induced (and ya know, i'm doing so well with blood sugars. boom.)! AAAHHH!!
and my sorority sister took a couple pictures of us a few weeks ago that she sent me, love them!
Miss anything? an adult beverage << yep. that.
Movement: almost always. on today's ultrasound it was confirmed that yes, he does keep his feet up under my right rib cage (i definitely have confirmed that without an ultrasound) ... and he likes to keep his legs straight out. SO COMFY!! ;) i envision him kicking those legs out of swaddles.
Food cravings: no, nothing sounds that great. food is not appealing. blah. food.
Anything making you queasy or sick: not really
Gender: boy

the final stretch
when you're type 1 and pregnant, you get some extra attention ... from doctors.
of course i've been seeing dr. awesome monthly, and my OB monthly - but now, i'll be seeing her much more frequently.
starting this week, i go to the OB twice a week for the duration of my pregnancy (something i thought would start at week 34). at the beginning of the week, i have an ultrasound followed by a quick check-in with a doctor or nurse practitioner. later in the week, i go in for a non-stress test (NST) followed by another check-in.
i have a feeling these weeks are going to fly by. unless he (or my OB) decides otherwise, i'll be induced on december 18, to deliver on the 19th. i have a feeling it will be before then, but of course i could be totally off. as long as he stays where he is until december 10, i'll take him when he's ready. :) (i'll be 37 weeks on 12/10 ... before 37 weeks babies have to go to the NICU and i want no part of that!)
perk = weekly pictures of our little guy. and feeling pretty safe and closely watched!
here's to the next six weeks...

Best moment this week: more room organizing and making it through the last big work event of the year ... things feel a bit more relaxed now and we can REALLY get ready for him!
Miss anything? yeah... i would really enjoy an adult beverage. an entire glass, not just a sip. ;)
Movement: oh yes, he's a busy body
Food cravings: no real cravings right now
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing major. one day this week at work they had spaghetti for lunch and the smell was nauseating

29 weeks
How far along? 29 weeks
Maternity clothes? yes
Sleep: pretty good this week... once i fall asleep ;)
Best moment this week: there's real floor in his room! and his crib is set up, WOO! ...and, all of my OB appointments are set up from now until he's due! EEP! (and i get an ultrasound every time!)
Miss anything? the same things as always... a bloody mary, maker's and diet, runny eggs.
Movement: so much moving! and as he's getting bigger and filling up my uterus, it's like i feel EVERY movement he makes. he would like to make himself comfortable under my right rib cage but he is probably disappointed when i try to direct him otherwise. (that chalkboard is no lie. it's already tight quarters in there.)
Food cravings: nothing really. actually, nothing has sounded especially delicious. i haven't really had one of those EAT ALL THE FOODS pregnancies. there have only been a few days that i've been hungry all day no matter what i ate, but those have been few and far between.
Anything making you queasy or sick: nothing really, hope it stays that way!
Gender: BOY! (should i just leave this question? i mean, the answer isn't going to change. we've confirmed that at least 3 times.)
Labor signs: i have felt some of my first braxton hicks. nothing excessive or extensive.
Symptoms: all. of these >>> growing heavy belly, sore back, sore hips, waddling, restless legs at night, the usual!
Belly button in or out? in ... but it's definitely getting flat
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or moody most of the time: pretty happy
Blood sugar: pretty good! side story: at my monthly appt with dr awesome last week, my blood sugar dropped. to make it more dramatic, my glucose tablets were on my desk at work instead of in my purse because i had taken them out to use them. sigh. so first i got glucose tablets from his medical assistant. i told him i was dropping and he asked if i felt okay and i did. well after talking to him for 10 minutes, i still felt pretty crummy so i checked my blood sugar and it was 35. AWESOME. he got me some juice and told me to wait til i felt okay to leave because i was his last patient of the day. i let a little time pass, checked again and i was 94. shew. it's like the best and worst place to be low. worst because you feel dumb that you're that low but best because you know they have stuff to help you out and will make sure you're okay. geez. let's hope that doesn't happen again. (we confirmed/blamed the low on the insulin i had for my special treat ghostbuster donut and the delay in delivery because of the fat content. yay)
Looking forward to: finishing up the nursery and moving all of his stuff from random places in the house to his room! :) it's definitely weird to walk by and see a crib set up in our house ...but weird in a great way!
